I started building dog kennels about 10 years ago as a hobby with a couple of basic designs. In 2020, after being made redundant, I researched the dog kennel market and soon discovered no-one was building or selling stylish quality made dog kennels.  Being a creative thinker with a background in engineering and coach building, my plan was to design and build the best dog kennels on the New Zealand market and put them on Trade Me to see if they would sell.  And they did!  I have now built and dispatched many quality kennels throughout the country.

I wanted a brand name people would remember.  ‘Cougar Kennels’ was influenced by family involvement throughout my life in racing cars.  Cougar Kennels has firmly established itself on the market with its stylish, quality dog kennels.

I developed a standard range of dog kennels and a specialty, custom-made range to ensure everyone gets the best kennel to suit their needs and that of their dog.  My custom-built kennels have given people the option to choose the colour, style and size that suits their requirements both practically and aesthetically; one that looked great on their property and they are proud to own.  Cougar Kennels is all about satisfying the customer with NZ made stylish and quality kennels.
